Jetprint

Configure and preview jet-printed solder paste deposition and export the jet printer program.

Jetprint

The Jetprint tab configures and previews solder paste deposition for stencil-free jet printers such as the Mycronic MY600. Instead of fixed stencil apertures, the system deposits controlled micro-droplets that build up the final paste deposit.

The tab is shown while Solder paste printing is on in the Assembly tab and the paste technology there is set to Jetprint. Paste printing is detected automatically when the project contains paste layers.

Choosing the paste technology

The choice between Stencil and Jetprint is made on the Assembly tab, next to the paste printing switch, because it is part of the assembly specification. With stencil printing the paste layers from the Gerber data define the aperture geometry and are shown on the canvas as imported; there is nothing further to configure, so the Jetprint tab is hidden.

Dot configuration

  • Dot Diameter – size of individual paste droplets (range: 0.22 – 0.60 mm)
  • Dot Spacing – distance between adjacent droplets (range: 0.12 – 1.00 mm)
  • Dot Pattern – Grid or Hex arrangement
  • Dynamic Dot Control – auto-shrink dots on small pads
  • Highlight Dots – toggle dot visibility overlay
  • Show Jet Path – visualize the jet printer head movement path on the canvas, showing the order in which pads will be deposited

The canvas preview updates immediately as you change a value.

When to use jet printing

Jet printing is particularly useful for prototyping, frequent PCB revisions, complex mixed-technology boards, and fine-pitch components (QFN, BGA) that benefit from per-pad volume control.

See Jet Printing for a detailed technical overview of the MY600 system.

Export JPSys

Click Export JPSys Program to generate a JPSys JSON program file directly from the Jetprint tab. This opens the Export JPSys modal with paste pad data pre-loaded from the current project.

Hiding paste on other tabs

On the PCB, Panel, SMD, THT and Coating tabs the canvas toolbar has a Paste toggle that hides the paste layers so you can inspect the bare board. It is a view setting for this device only: the layers, the Assembly declaration and the Jetprint tab are not affected, and paste is always drawn on the Jetprint tab.
